At the forefront of transformative change, the Kearns Prize seeks to honor the legacy of David Kearns by partnering with the Alexander Institute to recognize excellence in K12 education through an annual award to a public education teacher. We believe in the power of action to create lasting impact, pushing the boundaries of traditional education to forge a brighter future for all.
About the Prize
Eligibility & Selection Process
In coordination with the Alexander Fellows program, the Kearns Prize will identify fellows who stand out amongst their peers. Winners will be exemplars of David Kearns’ passion and commitment to leveraging innovative solutions to empower students.
Who Was David Kearns?
David T. Kearns was a legendary leader in business and a groundbreaking innovator in education. The creation of the Kearns Prize in his honor intends to spotlight innovative K-12 educators making a difference in the lives of the students and communities they serve.
The Alexander Fellows Program
Annually the Kearns Prize will award recognize and grant a monetary award of $25,000 to one Alexander Fellow from the The Lamar Alexander Initiative at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College.
